My name is Sumiya Akter Dristy. My Chinese name is Mèng shū yǎ (孟书雅). I am from Bangladesh. I am 21 years old. I am a 3rd year student of Anhui University Technology. My Major is Software Engineering. I am interested in this major because the field is so broad and encompasses a variety of roles related to both Computer applications and systems.
Why study in China?
China is home to excellent universities, beautiful natural sights, and great entertainment for students. International students in China will have an extraordinary educational experience.
China has one of the fastest growing economics in the world as in need of qualified professionals with degrees. In recent years China has begun to provide many full scholarships for students. Chinese universities are renowned for their excellence in science, technology engineering and math. Recently, Chinese schools have been ranked some of the best in the world for science and math. There are several great colleges and universities in China. Nowadays Students are highly interested to study in china .The reasons why students are determined to study in china are given below:
China is a safe country:
China is one of the safest country in the world. Crime rate in China is very low. So Students can live there without any trouble and study well.
Investments for students:
China encourages international students to come and continue studying in China! The country offers scholarships that contribute to attracting international students every year. Such scholarships can cover the academic costs in whole or in part.
Great choice for career:
The Chinese economy is on growth recently, which indicates that there are many job opportunities almost every day. Also, the Chinese economy is second after the States!
Without a doubt, this economic development has gotten China to be known as an important place for foreign students.
Anhui University of Technology (AHUT)
Anhui University of Technology (AHUT) was founded in 1958. It is a multidisciplinary university with engineering as its focus, while maintaining balanced programs in science, management, humanities, economics, law and arts.
The university is located in Ma’anshan, Anhui Province, a city with titles of “National Civilized City”, “National Garden City”, “Top Quality Environment City”, “National Tourism City”, and with 40 kilometers to Nanjing, the “Capital City for Six Dynasties in Ancient China”.
AHUT is always ready to cooperate and exchange globally. AHUT is proud to provide a vibrant and dynamic environment where 19, 574 undergraduate students, 2,145 graduate students are currently pursuing their education in the 67 bachelor-degree programs, 59 master-degree programs, and 6 doctor-degree programs.

Online education is a form of education where students use their home computers through the internet. Mainly Online education is electronically supported learning that relies on the Internet for teacher/student interaction and the distribution of class materials. Because of Covid-19 now we have to depend on online study. So AHUT has started online teaching method to teach international students. As it will keep the student connected to study and university, even though they are not in China they can still be a part of AHUT. For online study AHUT is using the online platform chaoxing app and wechat. Teachers and students both are trying their best to accept this new way of study.

Advantages of studying Online:
Although many people still consider traditional universities as the best way to achieve knowledge and get a diploma, online learning proves to be a great alternative. Students have the chance to study in their own time and especially for free. It represents a great way to study many fields and to boost the level of self-motivation. Some students are not comfortable to speak in public so online study can make it easy for them. Succeeding in online classes requires self-discipline. You actually have to login and participate in the discussions to get participation credit. Being lazy or undisciplined will cause you to quickly fall behind. By taking online classes, you develop stronger self-discipline, which often translates to other areas of your life such as fitness, work ethic.
Disadvantages of studying online:
Everything has good and bad side. Like that there are some disadvantages of studying online. Online study needs strong internet connection so some students may face problem as they may have network issue. Switching from traditional classroom to online study is difficult for both teachers and students. Moreover online class require more time than normal class. Online learning should be seen as a complement and extension of classical forms of learning. Not even the best online course can fully replace the personal contact with a teacher, or the human relationships that develop in a group.
My opinion about studying online in Anhui University of Technology
In the beginning I was nervous as it was completely a new experience for me and I was not sure about the learning method. But eventually teachers made it easy for me. They were very friendly and made me understand everything.
AHUT is using chaoxing apps to teach us. This apps is easy to use. Teachers upload teaching materials and videos so that we can understand the lessons properly. They also gives us homework and assignment to see our performance and how much we are concentrating in our lessons. We can easily communicate with teacher about our difficulty to understand any lesson. Teachers are really concern about our study and health.
My Study routine
Time difference between China and Bangladesh is 2 hour. Normally I start to study at 11am. I watch all the videos uploaded by teacher and try to take some notes.
After that in the evening I finish my homework and review the lesson again.
