Introduction

The School of Computer Science and Technology, Anhui University of Technology (AHUT), formerly known as the Department of Industry Automation, was established in 1985. The School of Computer Science and Technology has four first-level departments, i.e., the Department of Computer Science and Technology, the Department of Software Engineering, the Department of Network Engineering, and the Department of Internet of Things, where the Computer Science and Technology recruits a second degree. The School of Computer Science and Technology has a first-level discipline master degree and a professional master degree. Our School is responsible for all the teachings of public and basic computer course of theory and practice in our university. We have 2 excellent courses at provincial-level and 5 excellent courses at university-level. The School of Computer Science and Technology currently has 81 faculty members, including 10 professors, 26 associate professors and 5 senior experimentalists, all the young teachers have a doctoral or master degree.

In recent years, our school has been funded by more than 20 research projects from national and provincial, such as Natural Science Foundation of China, National Program on Key Research Project of China, and Natural Science Foundation of Anhui Province, and more than 40 industry projects from many large enterprises, such as Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd and Magang (Group) Holding Co., Ltd. More than 200 papers have been published on IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, IEEE Transaction on Cybernetics, Science China, Chinese Journal of Computers, Journal of Software and other high-level academic journals. We have strong research background in the field of data mining and artificial intelligence, computer graphics and visualization, computer network and information security, mobile Internet and software engineering services.

The School enrolls 12 natural undergraduate classes about 420 students, and 40 graduate students each year. Currently, the school has more than 150 graduate and 1700 undergraduate students. Since 1985, there are more than 6500 students graduating from our school with a high employment rate more than 98%. Most of the graduates are hired as the elite in their companies and very well received.

In the recent years, our students have won a first prize, a second prize, and three third prizes in the National college student’s extracurricular science and technology competition, and won the "Challenge Cup" of Anhui University of Technology for three consecutive times. Our students also achieve excellent results in other contents, such as the international and national robot contest, Programming Contest, mathematical modeling contest. Especially, the students got the third place in the 17th RoboCup Soccer World Cup in 2013, which is held in the city of Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
